Evening With Author Laurelle Cousins

Laurelle Cousins

The Swan Hill Library is delighted to invite the community to a special evening, "In Conversation with Author Laurelle Cousins", on Wednesday, 8 October at 7pm.

Laurelle Cousins, celebrated author of The Lonely Paddock and her latest novel Sheep Gully Road, will share the inspiration behind her work, her love of storytelling, and her reflections on life in rural Victoria. Set in the Western District, her novels explore themes of family, community, farming, and romance, striking a chord with readers who cherish country life.

Libraries Manager Camille Cullinan said the event would be a treat for anyone who loves Australian stories.

"Laurelle's books beautifully capture the spirit of rural Victoria - the resilience, the challenges, and the warmth of country communities.

"This will be a heartwarming evening for book lovers, aspiring writers, and anyone who enjoys a great story," Ms Cullinan said.

Laurelle describes herself as "a country girl at heart," having grown up surrounded by farm life, animals, and the rhythms of rural living. Her novels are praised for their authentic depictions of farming communities, strong female characters, and deep sense of place, making her a rising voice in contemporary rural fiction.

Guests will also have the chance to meet Laurelle after the conversation, purchase her books, and have them personally signed.

This free event will be held at the Swan Hill Library, and everyone is welcome to attend.
