Events Funding Available

Kiama Council

Jumptown Swing - Destination Kiama

Kiama Council is once again supporting local events through the latest round of funding from Destination Kiama.

Destination Kiama provides funding up to $20,000 for major and destination events, that develop our identity, connect our community and act as a catalyst for economic development and social activity in our towns, villages and public spaces.

Examples include the KISS Arts Festival, Kiama Sevens, Gerringong SurfLife Music Festival, Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival and Jamberoo Music Festival.

The funding is provided four times a year, and applications for the current round close Wednesday 26 October.

The amount of funding provided depends on:

  • The capability of the organiser to manage a successful event
  • The benefit to our region's reputation and profile
  • The benefit to our community and economy
  • The size and scale of the event
  • The financial sustainability of the event

Applications are evaluated by Destination Kiama's Advisory Committee, who make recommendations to Council for endorsement.

Organisers should read the Events Funding Guidelines before making their application.

If you are preparing a new event but not ready to apply for funding, you can make a Preliminary Event Application to determine its suitability for funding and what's needed to get it off the ground.
