A former teacher's aide has been charged following an investigation into an alleged historic sexual assault incident.
In April 2021, police attached to Mid North Coast Police District began an investigation into an alleged historic sexual assault.
The sexual assault allegedly occurred at a home on the Mid North Coast in 2011.
Despite police inquiries, the investigation was suspended pending further information.
On Monday 22 September 2025, additional information was supplied to police.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 35-year-old man at a childcare centre about 3pm that day (Monday 22 September 2025).
The man was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was charged with aggravated sexual intercourse person >=10 and <14 years.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 on Tuesday 23 September 2025, where he was formally refused bail to appear before Coffs harbour Local Court on Tuesday 18 November 2025.
