Exciting improvements for MALC

MidCoast Council

The Manning Aquatic and Leisure Centre is looking and feeling better than ever, with improvements and repairs.

Brand new equipment has been installed in the gym area over the last two weeks, including cardio machines, stationary bikes and weights.

The UV filtration system has also been a welcome change. With the water cleaned by UV rays, the amount of chemical treatment can be reduced. With less chlorine, the pool is more comfortable to swim in. There are other advantages too – the pool is cheaper to run and the UV system is better for the environment.

The ceiling lining in the gym has also been repaired, with the original internal ceiling tiles upgraded.

Council's Executive Manager of Community Spaces Dan Aldridge said "we realise how important sport is for the health and wellbeing of our community. These improvements to the centre will make it a more comfortable and attractive place to come and exercise."
