Event organisers, couples, community groups and businesses are invited to discover one of Central Queensland's most distinctive event venues when the Australian Shearing Shed at Rockhampton Heritage Village opens its doors for a dedicated Open Day on Saturday 9 May 2026.
The free event provides visitors with the opportunity to tour the iconic Shearing Shed, explore a range of indoor and outdoor event spaces across the historic Heritage Village grounds, and speak directly with the events team about wedding ceremony locations, corporate functions, fundraising events, celebrations and community gatherings.
Rockhampton Regional Council Communities and Heritage Spokesperson Councillor Drew Wickerson said the Open Day is designed to showcase the flexibility and appeal of the venue for a wide range of events.

Guests attending the Open Day will be guided through the Shearing Shed and surrounding Village spaces, view recommended layouts for different event types, and discuss wedding ceremony locations, catering vendor options, capacity and availability with the events team.
