Extra public transport for Mad March

Extra public transport services will help get people to and around the CBD for the Adelaide Fringe, WOMADelaide, Adelaide Festival and many more events over the next month.

A special ADLOOP tram service will operate on selected Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in addition to regular tram services, looping the north, east and south ends of the city in a clockwise direction.

"We know how exciting Mad March is for all South Australians and how busy the city can become during this period," Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Corey Wingard said.

"We are putting on more bus and tram services to meet the high demand for public transport over the next month.

"By doing so, we encourage people to leave their cars at home to not only ease traffic congestion, but more importantly, get you into the city and back home safely."

Additional O-Bahn services will also run between mid-February and mid-March on selected Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in addition to regular bus services.

Tram services between South Terrace, Festival Plaza and Botanic Gardens, and O-Bahn bus services will almost double in frequency on Friday and Saturday nights during Mad March, commencing on Friday, 19 February for the opening night of the Fringe.

Cleaning schedules have been increased across all public transport modes and extra cleaning crews are being used across the network.

Passengers are encouraged to maintain social distancing wherever possible and use their best judgement and wait for the following service if they do not feel as though there is adequate space or if instructed to do so.

Passengers are also reminded not to travel on public transport if they are feeling unwell.
