Extreme Heat And Total Fire Ban

Tuesday 27 January 2026 has been declared a day of Total Fire Ban for all of Victoria.

No fires can be lit or allowed to remain alight in the open air.

The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted hot and very dry conditions .

It's important to follow the Department of Health's advice , including staying cool and hydrated, checking in with family, friends and neighbours, and planning ahead and scheduling activities for the coolest part of the day. Hot cars kill. Never leave kids, adults or pets in cars. The temperature inside a parked car can double within minutes.

If you are in a life-threatening situation, call Triple Zero (000).
