Fail to comply arrest

The WA Police Force has charged a 41-year-old man for breaching a self-quarantine direction.

The man arrived in WA on a flight from Melbourne on Sunday 8 August 2021. The man was granted entry into WA and was directed to self-quarantine at a suitable premise for 14 days. When officers checked it is alleged the man had left quarantine and returned to Melbourne.

It is further alleged on Monday 16 August 2021 the man arrived in WA on a flight from Melbourne. The man was again granted entry into WA and was directed to self-quarantine at suitable premise for 14 days.

Follow-up checks by officers identified that the man was not at the registered location. The man was located and taken into custody.

The 41-year-old man has been charged with:-

• Two counts of Fail to Comply with a Direction (Emergency Management Act)

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 18 August 2021.
