Fail to stop crash, pedestrian injured in Waterloo

A woman has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Waterloo this afternoon, NSW Police say.

About 2.20pm (Thursday 6 September 2018), a woman has been hit by a car as she attempted to cross Lachlan Street, at the intersection of Sam Sing Street, in Waterloo.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the white vehicle fled the scene.

A crime scene has been established by officers from Redfern Police Area Command.

Officers from Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit will be attending to conduct a full investigation.

Lachlan Street, between Gadigal Avenue and Sam Sing Street remains closed.

Local diversions are in place.
