Hastings dad is overwhelmed with joy after discovering his TattsLotto ticket, filled with numbers chosen by his wife and daughter, holds a million-dollar prize!
The Mornington Peninsula lucky local, who held one of five division one entries in Saturday 23 March 2024 draw 4453, was oblivious to his newfound fortune until contacted by lotto officials this morning. The winning entry, a System 8, secured him a total windfall of $1,041,027.16.
“No way! No way!” he gasped.
“Ah really? Wow!
“Yeah ok! I’m in a hell of a shock!
“Can you read the figure out? I’m going to write it down!
“I’m just so dumbfounded. I can’t believe it.
“I’m supposed to go to work later tonight for a 12-hour shift but maybe I won’t.
“I’m going to tell my wife and daughter straight away! I think they’ll react the same as me – shock!
“My wife, daughter and I chose these numbers five years ago. I decided I would commit to purchasing regular TattsLotto tickets and asked them to choose six numbers.
“I’ve stuck with those numbers ever since.
“Oh boy, that’s some news!”
The Melburnian shared the lottery loot would allow him to retire a lot earlier than planned and set his daughter up for the future.
“Retirement is definitely on the cards and I’ll possibly be able to set my daughter up,” he revealed.
“Thank you so, so much!”
His winning System 8 entry was purchased at Hastings Gold Mine, 42-44 High Street, Hastings.
