Fatal car crash at Cressy

Emergency services are currently on scene of a car crash in Cressy, Victoria Police say.

It is believed a vehicle was travelling west along the Hamilton Highway when it veered off the road just before 9.30am.

The vehicle rolled a number of times before crashing into a stone fence and bursting into flames.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 92-year-old Drysdale man, died at the scene.

Fire did spread to nearby grassland as a result of the crash and was extinguished by emergency crews.

Police are currently on scene investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, saw the vehicle prior to the incident or has further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
