Police are currently at the scene of a fatal crash that claimed the life of a man in Mt Cottrell.
Investigators believe the driver of a Holden sedan was travelling south along Mount Cottrell Road when he lost control just before 4pm.
It appears the vehicle rolled before crashing into a pole and coming to rest.
The driver, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
Traffic diversions are currently in place and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
Anyone who may have seen a silver 2006 Holden Commodore sedan travelling in the area just prior to the incident is asked to contact Melton Highway Patrol on 9747 7999.
