Fatal crash in Lockhart

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner after a single vehicle crash in Lockhart, in the Riverina region of NSW yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 8.30pm yesterday, emergency services were called to Lockhart Collingullie Road, about one kilometre from the township of Lockhart, following reports of a single vehicle crash.

Initial investigations suggest a Holden Commodore sedan was travelling in a south west direction along Lockhart Collingullie Road when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The 21-year-old male driver sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.

Officers from Wagga Wagga Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle and no one else was injured in the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
