Fatal crash near Gilgandra, NSW

An investigation is underway into a fatal crash in the state’s central west, NSW Police say.

Just after 6.30am today (Sunday 2 December 2018), a Ford Mondeo appears to have lost control and crashed while travelling on the Castlereagh Highway at Gulargambone, about 25 kilometres north of Gilgandra.

The driver, an 18-year-old man, died at the scene.

Five passengers, all male, have been taken to Dubbo and Gilgandra hospitals. Four are believed to have minor injuries while one is in a critical condition.

Officers from Orana-Mid Western Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and appealing for anyone who witnessed it to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
