Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a fatal hit-run collision in Delacombe this morning.
Emergency services were called to La Trobe Street after a cyclist was located deceased about 5.40am.
The rider, a 60-year-old Ballarat man, sadly died at the scene.
Investigators have released CCTV and an image of a car in the hope someone may recognise it.
The car is described as a light-coloured small sporty sedan.
Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that may have been in the area at the time of the collision with dash-cam footage.
