Two children have died following a house fire in Geelong East this morning (13 September), Victoria Police say.
It is understood the blaze broke out inside a room of the Loch Street home shortly before 8am.
Two young girls, aged one and two years old, were taken to hospital, where they were sadly pronounced deceased.
A six-month-old child was also taken to hospital for smoke inhalation and is in a non-life threatening condition.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be established and the Arson Squad is attending, however it is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
The investigation is ongoing.
Loch Street is closed between St Albans Road and Kilgour Street.
