Fatal pedestrian incident, Burleigh Heads

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a man died at Burleigh Heads overnight (November 20).

Preliminary investigations indicate at 11pm a man was walking along Reedy Creek Rd near Mattocks Road when he was struck by a utility which had been travelling east.

The pedestrian, a 41-year-old Nerang man, died at the scene.

The driver of the ute, a 30-year-old Burleigh Waters man, is assisting police with inquiries. A motorvehicle has been seized for forensic examination.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision from the area is urged to contact police.

A report will be prepared for the coroner. Investigations are continuing.
