Fatal Traffic Crash Sparks Police Response on Sunshine Coast 24 January

Police are investigating following a fatal traffic crash at Diamond Valley early this morning, 24 January.

About 12.05am, police and emergency services were called to Diamond Valley Road following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a black Toyota Hilux utility.

The pedestrian, a 46-year-old Diamond Valley man was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition however later died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the Hilux, a 25-year-old Mooloolah Valley man was not physically injured and is assisting police.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with information, dash cam vision or who may have seen a person walking on the road prior to the incident to contact Policelink.

Investigations are ongoing.
