$750,000-contribution to help mobile construction software developer scale up and create 12 highly skilled jobs

May 22, 2019-Kitchener, Ontario

Today, Raj Saini, Member of Parliament for Kitchener Centre, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario, announced a contribution of $750,000 for Bridgit Inc., a female-founded and led developer of mobile applications for the construction industry.

Bridgit Inc.'s mobile software management tool, Closeout, enables users to log, assign and track new and ongoing project tasks using editable photos. This eliminates the manual paper process by streamlining workflows and communication with an easy-to-use app that offers daily emails, real-time conversation and weekly task reminders. Used by general contractors, engineering firms and real-estate developers, this user-friendly software has shown increased efficiencies in time, productivity and costs on large-scale construction projects.

With this investment, Bridgit Inc. will scale up business operations and expand into new and existing markets. This project will allow the company to undergo product refinement through late-stage testing, develop and launch an additional product, and create 12 highly skilled jobs in Kitchener.

"Our government is committed to supporting women-led businesses, such as female-founded Bridgit Inc., and helping them as they navigate the unique challenges that can be faced by female entrepreneurs. This FedDev Ontario investment reinforces our government's dedication to helping businesses in Waterloo Region thrive, growing our local economy by creating good jobs, fostering innovation, and pursuing new markets."

- Raj Saini, Member of Parliament for Kitchener Centre

This is why investments like the one announced today for Bridgit Inc. are so important. When we invest in women, we strengthen the economy for everyone."

- The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario

FedDev Ontario's contribution demonstrates the Government of Canada's commitment to scale local businesses. This project will allow Bridgit to not only develop more products to increase our overall market opportunity, but to support the local community through the growth of our team."
