One of Launceston's most iconic natural attractions has received a significant upgrade, with the completion of the Reimagining the Gorge Upgrades project - a $1.68 million investment jointly funded by the Australian Government and the City of Launceston.

The project enhances safety, accessibility and the visitor experience at the Cataract Gorge, including upgrades to the Alexandra Suspension Bridge, lighting improvements along the Cataract Walk, trail and barrier renewals, and environmental management works.

The Australian Government contributed $1 million with the City of Launceston providing a further $680,000.

"The Cataract Gorge isn't just a tourist attraction, it's the beating heart of our city - it's where locals go to unwind, where families make memories, and where hundreds of thousands of visitors fall in love with Launceston every year. These upgrades make it safer, more accessible, and an even better experience for everyone.
