Federation Councillor Patrick Bourke has been elected the Mayor of Federation Council.
Cr Bourke was elected Mayor at an ordinary meeting of Council yesterday.
Federation Councillor Shaun Whitechurch was elected Deputy Mayor.
Cr Bourke said it was an enormous honor to be elected to lead Federation Council for a further term.
"I could not be prouder to be elected as Mayor to lead the amazing group of Councillors that have been elected by our people," he said.
"I look forward to continuing to engage across the Council area to ensure our communities voices are heard right across the Council region. Over the past four years, Council has laid the groundwork for what we want to achieve over our term, particularly through our Council Plan. We've undertaken a lot of consultation to bring our community with us as we work through important issues, with further consultation planned in early 2022."
Cr Whitechurch said he was also honored to be elected as Deputy Mayor for a second term.
"My goal in life is to make a difference in our communities and leave it a better place than I found it," he said. Being a Councillor and Deputy Mayor, gives me the opportunity to effect real positive change for our community, its residents and visitors. I look forward to continuing to make a real difference and provide my insight and perspective throughout the decision making process."
