South East Local Land Services is conducting a survey of members of its Feral Fighters program to help inform the program's next phase.
"Group fox and pest control is really important and has been happening in communities for years" said Chris Harris, acting Local Manager of the Yass Local Land Services team.
"The Feral Fighters program was launched in collaboration with the Gunning District Landcare group in 2015 to help formalise the existing community relationships to help deliver a more coordinated, landscape scale approach to fox and pest control".
Since its inception the Feral Fighters program spread across South East communities and now has over 2,400 members.
"The program has really matured in the last few years, the community groups and structures are in place and running smoothly.
"Now is a good time to reflect on our progress to date, to hear from program members about what is working, what needs improving and what new ideas there might be out there - which is why we're conducting this survey."
South East Local Land Services have engaged a specialist research company to conduct the survey and analysis of the feedback.
"It's really important that we do this properly as the results of this survey will be used in our planning for the future" Chris said.
The research company, Down to Earth Research, will be calling many of the local Feral Fighter group organisers and other Feral Fighter members, at random, during the period Tuesday 17 September to Friday 4 October.
The survey is being funded by the NSW Government via the Pest Animal Levy fund.
