Feeling bit red in face

Kempsey Shire Council

Red bin shame

On 14 December, Council mistakenly published a notice in the MidCoast Observer which said our waste contractor would be collecting all three bins (green, yellow and red) over the two weeks between Monday 26 December and Friday 6 January.

This was not true.

We're very sorry about that.

We spotted it just after the paper went to print, too late to prevent it going out. We corrected it in the paper the next week, on our website, our social media, our newsletter and our billboards. We also sent out notifications to all residents who have downloaded the Waste App to their phones.

There has been an extra yellow bin service provided to collect recycling every week over the holiday period. Plus food waste is collected every week via your green bin. But the red bins stay as they were.

If you have any food waste you need to dispose of, your green bin is your friend and that will be picked up every week of the year.

Sorry again for any confusion.

To confirm your bin collection day, please download the Kempsey Shire Council Waste App or head to ksc.pub/bincalendar
