Fees And Charges 2026-27 Consultation

Campaspe Shire Council is inviting the community to have its say on Council's proposed non‑statutory fees and charges for the 2026-27 financial year, with a public consultation period scheduled to run from 14 April - 1 May.

Each year, Council reviews its fees and charges to ensure they remain fair, transparent, and reflective of the cost of delivering services to the community. The proposed schedule outlines updated fees across a range of services, including community facilities, waste management, permits, and regulatory activities.

In response to the current fuel crisis, Council is proposing to introduce a temporary fuel surcharge on certain fees and charges for the 2026-27 financial year. The fees and charges impacted are an increase of 2.25% for waste fees and charges (for resource recovery gate fees only; this does not apply to kerbside bin charges) and 5% for Council's quarry services. The fuel surcharge will be applied while the fuel crisis remains current in Australia and will be reviewed by Council on a regular basis.

Council is encouraging residents, businesses and community groups to review the proposed updates and share their feedback.

Campaspe Shire Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell said community input was an important part of Council's annual review process.

"We want to ensure our approach to fees and charges is clear, equitable, and supports the needs of the Campaspe community.

"A simple online submission form will be available during the consultation period to ensure the process is easy and accessible for everyone," Cr Mackrell said.
