Ferragosto is back on Sunday, 17 August - and you're invited to join the party! From 10am to 5pm, Great North Road will come alive with music, mouth-watering food, cooking shows, rides and plenty of fun for all ages.
Festival highlights:
150+ food and market stalls serving up arancini, antipasto, cannoli, pasta and more - plus handmade crafts, boutique fashion, and artisan goods.
Live performances across three stages and roving performers
Free rides and a petting zoo for the kids.
Terrazza Aperol. Garfield Street will become an orange, Mediterranean-inspired oasis serving Aperol Spritz, delicious antipasti, and a chance to win a trip for two to Italy.
FerraCucina on Via Sandhurst. First Avenue will transform into Via Sandhurst, hosting live cooking demos where chefs will share their culinary secrets, including how to create the perfect aperitivo hour.
Wine tastings. Take a sip and savour the flavours of Italy.
Italian vehicle displays. From Ducatis to classic Mini Fiats, experience the beauty and charm of Italian engineering.
Free event shuttle buses will operate throughout the day from surrounding suburbs, running continuously between 9:30 and 5:30pm.
"Ferragosto is a celebration of Five Dock's heritage, vibrant local businesses, and the contributions that Italian migrants have brought to the area over the years," City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna said.
"The event is a community favourite and this year we have really upped the ante. We welcome you to join us to celebrate, enjoy delicious food and experience the world-famous Italian hospitality."
