Final arrest relating to stabbing at Broadmeadows supermarket

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives last night arrested the final person wanted in relation to the alleged stabbing of a teenage boy in Broadmeadows in July.

A 17-year-old Broadmeadows teenager was interviewed by detectives last night following the alleged stabbing that occurred on Pascoe Vale Road on 15 July.

He was released from custody and is expected to be charged on summons with affray and intentionally cause injury in circumstances of gross violence.

Detectives have interviewed a total of 10 teenage boys in relation to this incident.

Five of six teenagers who were initially issued with cautions in relation to the incident are now expected to be charged on summons with affray.

The sixth teen was charged with affray and other assault related offences on 19 July.

He was bailed to appear at a children's court at a later date.

Two other Coolaroo boys were interviewed on 26 July.

One of the boys, aged 18 is expected to be charged with intentionally cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, recklessly cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence and affray.

A 15-year-old is expected to be charged with affray.

An 18-year-old Jacana man was charged with intentionally cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, recklessly cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, affray and other related offences in July in relation to the incident.

He remains remanded in custody and is expected to reappear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 4 November.

The 16-year-old victim from Dallas sustained life threatening injuries after he was stabbed in the abdomen during the incident.

He received treatment for his injuries and was released from hospital after almost two weeks.
