Final Design For St Leonards Pier Revealed

VIC Premier

The Allan Labor Government has released the final designs for the new St Leonard's Pier.

The finalised Pier designs will feature wheelchair accessible fishing locations, curved seating that overlooks bay views and a low landing, providing safer access for boaters, divers and snorkellers.

The new design has been shaped by community feedback and ensures protection of the pier's heritage values and recognises the significance of the marine environment including the nearby shipwrecks and archaeological artifacts.

The expanded pier will also include educational signage that shares the maritime history of St Leonards, highlighting the bay's marine flora and fauna.

Victoria's local ports contribute more than $900 million a year to local and regional economies through tourism, marine activities, and industries.

The tender for construction will be open in the coming weeks and updates will continue to be provided to the local community.
