The final Faculty Senate meeting of this academic year is Thursday, May 1, from 4:10 to 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be in Faculty Commons Building's second-floor event space. There will be a reception following to honor all faculty and celebrate the 10 spring faculty award honorees.
All faculty are invited, and voting members are expected to attend in person.
Agenda items include hearing from Chancellor Daniel Diermeier and Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs C. Cybele Raver.
Committee reports include updates from the Faculty Senate affairs and DEI committees. Jeanine Romine, director of operations for the Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Education, will give a presentation on ESPLORO.
Voting for Faculty Senate leadership for the 2025-26 academic year will be held. Faculty bylaws require a physical quorum for voting.
To accommodate those who may need nearby parking, limited free parking is available 4-6 p.m. in Lot 130. Parking will be marked "Faculty Senate Meeting" and is off Grand Avenue. If the parking area is full, there are paid spaces in Wesley Garage and nearby annual parking lots (131B, 132, 111, 80, and 5A and 5B) and daily parking at Wesley Garage for those enrolled in the daily parking program.
