In the three weeks since our last Jindabyne Shared Trail update more trails have been completed, even more are underway—and in very exciting news—work has now begun on the final trail upgrade under the long-running project.
Crews broke ground earlier this week on major upgrades to Mill Creek Trail, the last trail on the project schedule for the multi-year Jindabyne Shared Trail project. One of the major parts of the trail network, these upgrades to Mill Creek will take significant time to complete.
Rolling closures will be in place, with no full closure of Mill Creek Trail required while upgrades are underway. Please be alert for work crews, barricades, and other work-related hazards when out on the trail.
Recent project updates

- Bridge paving and abutment (foundation) work complete on new connector trail between Rainbow Drive and Rainbow Beach
- Work continues on the trail link between Kunama Estate and the new Rainbow Drive/Rainbow Beach trail
While the end is in sight, there is still plenty of work ahead over the latter half of 2026.
Council asks the public to steer clear of closed trails and active construction sites. Be safe, respect the work of our local contractor, and you'll be enjoying the full network of new and upgraded trails before you know it.
