Finalists for Study NT International Student of Year announced

The Territory Labor Government promotes the Northern Territory as the destination of choice for international students and ensures they have a great experience while studying here.

This includes providing professional development, grants, wellbeing and awards programs.

This week, the finalists for the Study NT International Student Awards have been revealed, with the awards providing international students an opportunity to be recognised and celebrated for academic success and community mindedness.

The International Student of the Year acknowledges the contribution of international students to the Territory, as well as the contribution of local businesses that employ international students.

The seven finalists for the 2022 Study NT International Student of the Year Award are:

Anna Belle Permenter from United States of America, who is undertaking a Bachelor of Arts at Charles Darwin University;Ashish Ghimire from Nepal, who is undertaking a Bachelor of Business at Canterbury Institute of Management;Ema Kittova from Slovakia, who is undertaking a Master of Nursing at Charles Darwin University;Isha Rana from India, who is undertaking a Master of Teaching at Charles Darwin University;Maria Emilia Dumigan from Argentina, who is undertaking an Advanced Diploma in Marketing and Communication at International House Darwin;Rosie Nguyen from Vietnam who is undertaking a Master of IT (Information System and Data Science) at Charles Darwin University; andYuqing 'Crystal' Zhao from China, who is undertaking a Master of Teaching at Charles Darwin University.

Rosie Nguyen and Crystal Zhao have also been selected as finalists for the 2022 International Student Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of their contribution to their local community.

Finalists for the inaugural 2022 International Student Employer of the Year Award are InterSystems Australia P/L, Mindil Beach Casino Resort, SAMAF Accountants & Consultants and UniLodge Darwin.
