The A/Chief Fire Control Officer, Bushfires NT and the Chief Fire Officer, Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service have declared a 24-HOUR FIRE BAN PERIOD for Tuesday 23 September 2025 for the following fire weather forecast areas:
Darwin and Adelaide River, including Darwin, Palmerston Litchfield and Coomalie.Barkly North, including Elliott, Newcastle Waters, Barkly Homestead and Ranken.Barkly South, including Tennant Creek, Threeways and Ali Curung.
The fire ban is declared for a 24-hour period commencing at 0000 hours on Tuesday 23 September 2025.
During the fire ban no person shall light a fire or cause a fire to be lit in the open in the portion of the Northern Territory within the fire ban areas.
The fire ban is valid from midnight to midnight.
