Fire destroys cafe in Parramatta

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire that’s destroyed a cafe in Parramatta overnight, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the cafe in Parramatta Park on O’Connell Street, about 10.10pm today, following reports of a fire.

On arrival officers located the cafe well alight.

NSW Fire & Rescue officers worked for some time to bring the blaze under control.

The cafe was not open at the time the fire started and it’s not yet known exactly how the fire started.

A crime scene has been established as a full investigation is now underway.

Anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously near the cafe about 10pm today is asked to contact detectives at Parramatta Police Station (02) 9633 0799, or Crime Stoppers.
