Fire investigation, Bethania

Investigations are underway following a fire at a retirement village in Bethania tonight, Wednesday November 9.

Just after 9pm police and emergency services were called to the Snedden Street complex where one unit was well ablaze.

Firefighters quickly bought the fire under control however the unit was destroyed.

Five neighbouring units were evacuated for precaution.

One of the neighbouring occupants, a woman in her sixties was transported to Logan Community Hospital in a stable condition for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Investigations continue.
