Firearm And Drug Seizure, Woolooga

Police have charged a man and allegedly seized more than 1kg of cannabis after incidents at a property in Woolooga this week.

Intelligence received in relation to an unregistered firearm led police from Goomeri and Kilkivan to allegedly locate and seize a rifle and ammunition from an Edwards Road address on June 23.

Police were called to several disturbances at the property on June 23 and June 24, including reports of a man damaging property on Edwards Road with a weapon and shouting threats around 10.30am on June 24.

Upon police arrival, a man was allegedly located with an axe handle.

A search of the Edwards Road property was executed and police allegedly located and seized 1.124kg of cannabis.

A 69-year-old Woolooga man was arrested at the scene and has been charged with one count each of going armed in public as to cause fear, trespass and possession of dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on July 21.

Investigations are ongoing.
