Firearm located during arrest at Carrum Downs

Carrum Downs police arrested two men after allegedly evading police and a firearm located in Carrum Downs early this morning.

Police were on patrol when they attempted to intercept a car on Lyrebird Drive just after midnight.

The vehicle failed to pull over and was followed to an address on Allied Drive in Carrum Downs where two men were arrested.

During the arrest it is alleged a home-made firearm and a small amount of cannabis was located.

A 22-year-old Frankston man was arrested and is currently in custody.

The second man was charged with breaching a community corrections order.
