Firearm Search Warrant in Beeliar, WA

Fremantle Detectives have arrested a man for firearm offences as a result of their investigation into allegations of a person modifying replica and blank firing firearms and converting them to live working order in exchange for drugs and ammunition.

On Thursday 30 November 2017, Detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Pearse Road in Beeliar. During the search it is alleged police located and seized:, WA Police say-

•15 replica and blank firing handguns that were in various stages of modification, four of which had been fully converted to fire live ammunition;

•In excess of 1000 rounds of ammunition;

•Various prohibited weapons;

•Firearm silencers;

•Small amounts of Methamphetamine; and

•Metal working equipment used to modify firearms.

A 56 year old man from Beeliar is due to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court on 19 December 2017, charged with:-

?13 counts of Unlicensed Person Possess Firearm/Ammunition;

?4 counts of Possessed a Prohibited Weapon;

?2 counts of Possession of Contrivance known as a Silencer;

?2 counts of Failed to Ensure Safe-Keeping of Firearm/Ammunition;

?Possess a Prohibited Drug; and

?Possessed any Drug Paraphernalia in or on which there was a Prohibited Drug or Plant.
