Firearm Seized, Man Charged in Nowra Break-In

A man has been charged with firearm and drug offences following an alleged break and enter in the state's south earlier this month.

About 10.15am on Saturday 13 June 2026, officers attached to South Coast Police District were called to a business on McMahons Road, North Nowra, following a report of a break and enter.

Police were told between 12am and 3am that day two people gained entry to the business and stole several items.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced.

About 7.30am yesterday (Monday 29 June 2026), officers were conducting patrols of Meroo Road, Bomaderry, when they stopped a man allegedly riding an e-bike rider without a helmet.

Following inquiries and a search of the 26-year-old man, police seized a firearm, ammunition, methylamphetamine and heroin.

The man was taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with seven offences,

  • Possess unregistered firearm (pistol)
  • Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
  • Aggravated possess loaded prohibited firearm public place
  • Aggravated possess loaded pistol public place
  • Possess prohibited drug (two counts), and
  • Aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Local Court 3 yesterday (Monday 29 June 2026), where he was further refused bail to reappear before Nowra Local Court next Tuesday (14 July 2026).
