Firearms and drugs seized in South Yarra

Prahran Divisional Response Unit detectives arrested a man after locating firearms and drugs during a South Yarra search warrant on Friday.

Detectives executed the warrant at a Cromwell Road address about 8am on 17 July.

Officers seized a handgun, a sawn-off shotgun, ammunition and an amount of cash.

Officers also located what is believed to be heroin, cannabis and drug trafficking material.

A 37-year-old man was arrested and subsequently charged with two counts of possess unregistered firearm, possess ammunition, possess cannabis, possess heroin and traffick heroin.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 13 October.
