Firearms, drugs seized; man, teenage girl charged - South Granville

Police have arrested a man and a teenage girl during a search of a unit at South Granville yesterday.

Shortly before 9am

(Wednesday 6 March 2019), officers from Police Transport Command executed a search warrant at a unit on Chiswick Road, South Granville.

Police located and seized a number of items, including two replica firearms, an electronic control device, flick knife, extendable baton, knuckle dusters, drugs - believed to be methylamphetamine, cannabis, and a sum of cash.

About 10.50am the same day (Wednesday 6 March 2019), police arrested a 60-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl at the unit.

They were both taken to Granville Police Station.

The man was charged with the following offences.

- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (x4)

- Possess unauthorised pistol (x2)

- Goods in personal custody suspected being stolen

- Possess prohibited drug (x4)

- Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance

- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 3 April 2019.

The girl was charged with an outstanding warrant.

She was refused bail to appear at a children's court yesterday (Wednesday 6 March 2019).
