Firearms seized at Mawson Lakes

A man was arrested after police seized several firearms from his Mawson Lakes home yesterday.

Police searched the Mawson Lakes property about 5.30pm on Tuesday 21 March with the assistance of Police Dog Harriet.

It will be alleged officers found seven firearms, including five replicas, and ammunition.

A 35-year-old Mawson Lakes man was arrested and charged with multiple firearms offences, including possess firearm without a licence, possess unregistered firearm, possess insecure firearm and possess ammunition without a licence.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 22 March.
