
Major upgrades to the netball facilities and amenities at Firth Park in Mudgeeraba are now complete, to support current and emerging athletes.
Acting Mayor Mark Hammel said the City has invested $21 million to expand the park's capacity and establish it as a premier netball hub, suitable for hosting large regional and state competitions.
"Firth Park is loved by the community, supporting club sport including netball, baseball and rugby," Acting Mayor Hammel said.
"It's also home to a popular skate park and the Mudgeeraba Bowls Club.
"These improvements are vital to ensure the park remains fit‑for‑purpose and continues to serve our growing community for years to come."
Completed upgrades
- Constructed 24 netball courts to national netball design standards and install 200 lux LED lighting
- Installed player shade between courts, spectator seating with shade at all courts
- New toilet amenities block and upgraded existing toilet facilities
- New path with lighting from Somerset Drive to the Community Centre
- Stormwater management plan including between the netball courts
- Smart lighting control system
- New sports field lighting at Junior Rugby Field 3
- Upgrade car park with increased capacity and install LED lighting
- Upgraded wayfinding signage
- New bowls club car park and path with lighting
- New bowls club fencing and access gates
- Landscaping.
Construction was completed in January, with additional lighting works scheduled for completion in July.
The 140 informal temporary carparks adjacent to the skate park will be restored to grassed open space by May 2026.
