Five Charged in Guildford Kidnapping Case

Taskforce Falcon detectives have charged five people following an alleged kidnapping in Sydney's west.

About 11.30pm on Monday 20 April 2026, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command – assisted by State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad – commenced inquiries after receiving reports that a 32-year-old man had allegedly been assaulted by four unknown men, and forced into a vehicle on Eve Street, Guildford.

Following inquires, a Ford Ute was located partially burnt out on Belmore Street, Villawood, where the alleged offenders moved the 32-year-old man into a hatchback.

About 12.30am on Tuesday 21 April 2026, officers from Liverpool and Cumberland Police Area Command – with assistance of Polair, the Dog Unit, Raptor Squad and Northwest Metropolitan Operation Support Group – located the hatchback at a property in Hume Highway, Casula.

Upon arrival, five men left the scene before they were arrested by police near Kane Place, Casula.

The 32-year-old man was located at the property and taken to hospital in a stable condition and treated for facial injuries. He's since been discharged.

The investigation was handed over to detectives attached to State Crime Command's Taskforce Falcon, under Strike Force Breez.

About 3.20am, a search warrant was executed at the Casula property, where strike force detectives allegedly seized a firearm, baseball bat, and items relevant to the investigation.

The five people were taken to Liverpool Police Station, where they have since been charged.

  • A 22-year-old Blacktown man was charged with kidnap in company with intent serious indict occasion actual bodily harm, participate criminal group contribute criminal, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence and destroy property in company use fire great than $5000.
  • A 21-year-old Queensland man was charged with kidnap in company with intent serious indict occasion actual bodily harm, participate criminal group contribute criminal, face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence, aggravated take/drive motor vehicle with person in/on it armed with weapon, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and destroy property in company use fire great than $5000.
  • A 21-year-old Macquarie Fields man was charged with kidnap in company with intent serious indict occasion actual bodily harm, participate criminal group contribute criminal, face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence, aggravated take/drive motor vehicle with person in/on it armed with weapon, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and destroy property in company use fire great than $5000.

The four men were all refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Wednesday 22 April 2026).

  • A 15-year-old boy was charged with kidnap in company with intent serious indict occasion actual bodily harm, participate criminal group contribute criminal, face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence, aggravated take/drive motor vehicle with person in/on it armed with weapon, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm and destroy property in company use fire great than $5000. He was refused bail to appear at a Children's Court today (Wednesday 22 April 2026).
