Five Teens Face Charges Following Hawthorn East Home Invasion

Southern Metro Region Crime Squad detectives have charged five teens following a home invasion in Hawthorn East.

Police were first called out to Hawthorn East following reports of a home invasion in Tower Place sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

It's alleged that five intruders gained entry to a house and stole a 2019 Mercedes GLC350 wagon along with a range of other personal items.

Investigators acted swiftly, arresting five teenagers on the Princess Highway, Pakenham, about 10.45am.

The allegedly stolen vehicle was recovered in the Springvale area later in the morning.

A 13-year-old Seaford boy, a 15-year-old Springvale South boy, a 15-year-old Cranbourne North boy, a 13-year-old Doveton boy and a 16-year-old Pakenham boy have all been charged with home invasion, theft of a motor vehicle, theft and bail offences.

They will face a children's court at a later date.
