Rear Adm. Joseph Hornbuckle, Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC), relieved Col. Thomas Atkinson, Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) commander, of his duties, April 15, due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command.
Capt. James Belmont, executive officer, has assumed responsibilities of command. Belmont was previously scheduled to assume command in May. Col. Atkinson has been temporarily reassigned to COMFRC headquarters.
