ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:

FLOODING OCCURRING IN PARTS OF FLOOD WATCH AREA WITH FURTHER FLOODING POSSIBLE

A trough lies over the Top End with a weak circulation still located over the Arnhem district. As a result, moderate to heavy falls are expected across the flood watch area, with heaviest rain most likely falling across the North West Coastal Rivers. Isolated heavy falls are possible with thunderstorms over the Flood Watch area during the remainder of Monday and Tuesday.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are saturated from recent rainfall which means that the moderate to heavy rain may produce renewed river level rises for some catchments or may prolong the current flooding.

Rainfall may cause further significant water level rises in rivers and creeks as well as prolonged overland flooding and ponding. Roads may become impassable. Some communities and homesteads may become isolated. Check road conditions before travelling.
