Flood Recovery Support Offered in Wardell & West Ballina

Ballina Shire Council is partnering with various agencies and community groups to provide mobile flood recovery services in Wardell and West Ballina in May.

Three pop-up sessions will be held as follows:

  • Wardell Memorial Hall, 49 Richmond Street, 10 May and 24 May, 2pm-7pm
  • Ballina Rugby Club, Kalinga Street West Ballina, 15 May, 2pm-7pm

Service providers on site will include Ballina Shire Council staff, representatives from the NSW Reconstruction Authority, Healing and Resilience Australia, Australian Red Cross, Northern Rivers Community Legal Centre, NSW Health, and the Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre.

Residents will be able to access a variety of support and advice including assistance with the GIVIT application process, advice on Council rates and payment options, legal advice regarding insurance claims, advice on accessing the Disaster Relief Grant, counselling services, art therapy, and social support.

Free community BBQs will be held at each pop-up session, even if you don't need flood recovery services, everyone is welcome to come down and enjoy some refreshments.
