ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:
MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BESWICK BRIDGE FROM EARLY FRIDAY MORNING
Recent moderate rainfall across the Waterhouse River catchments has resulted in significant river level rises along the Waterhouse River. Further moderate rainfall is forecast over the next few days, which may lead to moderate flooding at Beswick Bridge from early Friday morning.
Continued rainfall associated with the monsoon trough may cause further river level rises. This situation will be closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required.
A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Bonaparte, North West Coastal and Carpentaria Coastal River catchments.
Waterhouse River:
Moderate flooding is possible along the Waterhouse River.
The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is currently at 6.30 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge may exceed the minor flood level (7.70 m) overnight Thursday into Friday. The river may reach around the moderate flood level (8.10 m) early Friday morning. Further rises are possible.
