Food festival to roll back into town

Come out to Jimboomba for the next Eats & Beats.
Randell and Ainslie Lewis are ready to feed the crowds at Eats & Beats on Friday, April 30.

It's going to be hot, loud and busy inside this Jimboomba food truck next Friday night but its owners wouldn't have it any other way.

Randell and Ainslie Lewis are excited to serve up some hot, juicy cuts of meat, straight from their RollnSpit wagon, at City of Logan's Boot Scootin Eats & Beats event in Jimboomba.

The couple made their first foray into food service at an Eats & Beats event in Logan Village four years ago - and haven't looked back since.

"It was our first event, first market and we sold out in an hour and a half," Randell said.

"We took 250 kilos of meat, we just had so many staff there ready to rock and roll, we couldn't believe it."

The business has gone from strength to strength in recent years, catering at private and public events around South East Queensland.

While the COVID-19 pandemic led to a downturn in bookings last year, the couple used the time to rebuild their trailer into a more efficient outfit.

The popular eatery will join about 20 others providing dinner and dessert for Eats & Beats patrons next Friday.

Lifestyle Chair Councillor Laurie Koranski said thousands of people were expected to attend the Jimboomba event on April 30.

"Eats & Beats continues to be a favourite with people across the City of Logan, and beyond," Cr Koranski said.

"Our Boot Scootin event is sure to be another great night out, with fantastic food, upbeat music and a heap of fun.

"I'm looking forward to seeing everyone up and dancing next Friday."

Local (Division 9) Councillor Scott Bannan said the Jimboomba community was looking forward to having Eats & Beats back in town.

"I can't wait to see our residents and families getting out there and enjoying themselves," Cr Bannan said.

"We've all done our bit over the past year to be responsible when it comes to social gatherings and we deserve to have some fun, eating and dancing the night away."

Boot Scootin Eats & Beats will begin at 5pm at Rotary Park in Jimboomba.

Parking will be available at the nearby Jimboomba State School.
