Foodbank has delivered two pallets of food to the Emergency Food Relief Centre at the Ballarat Library.
The pallets included 32 grocery hampers and 10 personal care hampers, as well as 57 other non-perishable foods items such as soups, noodles, rice and cereal.
Foodbank is Australia's largest food relief organisation and provides more than 70 per cent of the food rescued for food relief organisations across Australia.
The food will be donated to the vulnerable in our community through welfare agencies and Federation University.
The Foodbank delivery was organised by Ballarat Community Health in conjunction with the City of Ballarat, Federation University and the Ballarat Foundation.
Already over 1000 non-perishable food items have been donated to the Emergency Food Relief Centre, including 32 food packs provided by community aid group Australian Peace Organisation.
City of Ballarat Mayor Cr Ben Taylor said the Foodbank delivery adds to the enormous generosity of the Ballarat community.
"I would like to thank Foodbank for this wonderful donation which will really help the people in Ballarat who may not have money for food at the moment, or who may not be able to access groceries or food for some reason," Cr Taylor said.
"It adds to the wonderful donations already received over the past week from the Ballarat community, who have really opened their hearts to the less fortunate through simple things, like packets of soup or rice or even beanies for winter warmth.
"The Australian Peace Organisation has also donated 32 food packs, which is an extraordinary effort and very thankfully received."
Cr Taylor said he would encourage people to keep donating at the Emergency Food Relief Centre, which is located in the loading bay at the Market Street side of the Ballarat Central Library.
"Let's keep going Ballarat and show the world just how generous we can be. You are being kind to your community so well done and keep up the good work."
Buninyong MP Michaela Settle said: "We need to look out for each other over the next few months - but for people who have no one nearby to support them, this will help make sure they get what they need. There is plenty of food for all Victorians so please don't take more than you need. But if you do find yourself isolated, and can't access the basics, these emergency relief packages are for you."
