Capel Sound Foreshore Reserve has been fully transformed into a vibrant, family-friendly destination thanks to the Allan Labor Government.
Minister for Environment Steve Dimopoulos announced the completion of the reserve - one of the 11 open space projects funded under the $7.4 million Better Parks and Playgrounds program.
Designed and delivered by the Capel Sound Committee of Management, the reserve is now home to a new playground, an accessible boardwalk and a range of park amenities for visitors to the foreshore to enjoy.
The recent upgrade at Capel Sound Foreshore Reserve began construction in March and marks the fifth project to be completed under the Government's Better Parks and Playgrounds program since 2024 - providing more options for families and friends to create lifelong memories in their local areas.
Previous upgrades have included improvements at Brooklyn Reserve Community Garden, Doreen Splash Park and Playground, Hendersons Creek Wetlands Playground in South Morang, and the Glyn Court Reserve Playground in Cheltenham.
The Labor Government's Better Parks and Playgrounds program is improving Victoria's open space network and ensuring Victorians have easy access to much needed green open space to exercise, relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Communities can expect to enjoy more open space upgrades in the future, with works at Deep Rock Road Pavilion in Yarra Bend Park and Alex Wilkie Nature Reserve in Springvale South already under construction.
